For me, architecture is an influential tool - a statement of an artist, time and place. As a creative and ambitious young person, I believe architecture has the ability to provoke one’s imagination, preserving remarkable pieces of art through centuries. My main interest relates to monumental public buildings which gather different characters and interests under one roof. In the previous years, I have worked on designing a public edifice connected with musical performances and displays, as well as a visitor centre, consisting of educational space for events, workshops and leisure areas. These projects inspired me to think outside the box and enriched my general knowledge of art.

While growing up in an

ex-communist country, I noticed how the architecture still influenced and sometimes controlled the society. This was a trigger for my current beliefs, that design should be liberating rather than imposing. Architecture can shape people’s lives – then why don’t we let their lives, the society, surrounding nature, or even current social issues to shape the architectural environment?

By the means of design, I aim to tackle spacial challenges with pragmatism, after a critical understanding of the past and present from a micro to a macro context, and then aim for a better future.

As someone who is truly interested in art I see architecture like a palette of a painter. All colors and their blending represent how each culture, time or tradition can be really influential for a building and the most impressive designs often evoke a range of emotions. Seeing these emotions and how different people interact or experience an architectural piece is for me when everything becomes alive. This is something I would like to consider as a starting point for future projects. By bringing atmosphere that suits the interests of a group of people, community, I seek for a design that can engage them and bring them together, because I believe that architecture has this power to gather people together.

My way of looking at architecture is not just trying to achieve the perfect result but making sure the process of getting to that result is the right one. Having the people, that are going to be the ones eventually gaining from the project, involved in the process of developing the project is very important to me. it makes sure that the project moves in the right direction at all times. Designing a building is developing an idea and pushing that idea out of your comfort zone and in every possible direction to end up with the best possible outcome.
